in cincinnati, ohio. the president drew a crowd of 23,000 people this afternoon in hollywood, florida, after 24,000 people turned out last night to hear him in virginia. think about that. 24,000 in virginia last night. 23,000 people in florida today. in concord, new hampshire, this morning, when 14,000 people turned out to hear president obama, that was the largest crowd ever assembled for a political event in the entire state of new hampshire. in the entire history of the state of new hampshire. i realize new hampshire may not be big, but new hampshire is old. and this is the biggest political rally ever held in the state of new hampshire for the entire time that new hampshire has existed. we cannot be sure why more people are turning out to hear president obama today than are turning out to hear mitt romney. maybe it's just the power of incumbency. people want to hear a president speak no matter who the president is just because he's a president. governor romney's rallies have today have been significantly smaller than obama's. for the romney campaign, these are really quite good crowds. all

medication, astrazeneca may be able to help. >>> the president has 29 new electoral votes today. florida's! it's not because the results are actually official, i'm sorry to say. it's just because mitt romney's team finally just conceded the state. but the count continues there today. three days since the election. maybe they regret cutting early voting days from 14 days to 8. maybe they don't. regardless, voters waited hours. hours upon hours in lines that meandered for blocks. ballots upwards of ten pages were the longest in the state's history. i watched as one voter actually fainted in the hot sun, waiting hours without any shade, just to cast her vote. the president was declared a winner, and floridans were still waiting to vote. is this moral? is it legal? is there a head that needs to roll or several? the president said officials need to, quote, fix it. and he said it in his victory speech. miami-dade's county mayor jimenez admitted on our show yesterday, everyone needed answers and things had to change. >> without a doubt, we had some operational issues that we have to take care.

after voters were going to the polls, including a heated contest in florida where con tro version shul republican allen west is trying to hold on to his seat there. also in palm springs, the late widow of sonny bono is not giving up her fight either. let's talk about the senate. surprising or not surprising? >> surprising, i guess, because the odds were against the democrats when this cycle first started. depending the seats up for grabs. the numbers are still changing. the numbers are final, final two races were called yesterday. 54 democrats will be in the new senate, including one independent. 45 republicans in the new senate. and then there's that one independent from maine, angus king, former independent governor. will he caucus with the democrat or republicans? the thought is the democrat which would bring them to 55. plus two from where they were in the last senate. remember, ashleigh, also, 20 of the senators will be women in the next senate. very interesting. quickly to the house of representatives where this is -- we have ateight more races outstanding. 233 republicans so far

. that about sums up the race in florida. this new nbc news/"wall street journal"/marist poll shows president obama with a two-point lead over mitt romney. that is well within the margin of victory, so basically we'll call it a dead heat, but when you go beyond the polls you see voters waiting for hours so they can cast their votes. there's been a lot of controversy over early voting in florida this year. it started a week ago and early voting ends day. our john zarella joins me now from plantation, florida. john, good morning. i understand that you voted yesterday. how long did you have to wait? >> reporter: yeah, you know, i did, and i'm really glad i voted yesterday because when i voted the line here was just back over there. i think, dominic, you can give them a shot of where i was standing, and it took me from the time i got in line to the time i walked out the door, two hours and ten minutes to vote, so if you look at where the line is now, which winds all the way around and down there, it's, we estimate, about 700 deep, and maybe about a four-hour wait for the folks to vote. it's nice

're getting new information from florida right now. let's go right to john zarrella in miami watching the vote counting. john, as our viewers know, we have not yet projected a winner in the state of florida, although as we all know, the president has been re-elected by our own projection. but what's the latest from miami? >> yeah, you know, wolf, we've been waiting primarily because the numbers in miami-dade county, which is the largest county in the state of florida, last night they sent the election workers home. they stopped counting. they were going to pick that up today. well, now, finally, we have all 829 precincts reporting. now, remember, there are still some absentee ballots that have not been counted and provisional ballots that won't be completely finished or counted before thursday or friday. but all 829 precincts are in. and the numbers are like this. the president, 521,000 and change votes. mitt romney, 317,382 votes. so the president doing very, very well and in fact, wolf if you compare these numbers back to 2008, the president outperformed himself so far by over 20,000 votes.
